COVID-19 Community-backed Fundraisers
• One-of-a-kind jackets via Vested Interest Hawaii
#Foodrescue, #Fabricrescue and #localbusiness unite to help raise funds for
our COVID-19 response! Donate to receive an original, handmade jacket crafted from vintage kimono.
INSTRUCTIONS TO CLAIM YOUR JACKET, WHILE SUPPLIES LAST:
1. Using the portal above, make a $275+ donation.
2. Check the “Write us a comment” box and write “ALOHA JACKET – (color)” to receive your one-of-a-kind creation.
3. For color, you can choose between designs that are predominately light pastels, oranges, pinks, or darker colors. View Vested Interest Hawaii to get a feel for the kinds of jackets creator Elizabeth Kent makes.
4. One size fits all, with a few larger sizes available. If you’d like the larger size, please add “XL” to your comment.
The amount of any contribution that is tax-deductible is limited to the excess of any money over the value of goods & services received. The fair market value of each “ALOHA JACKET” is $150, and the fair market value of each “ALOHA TABLE RUNNER” is $45. The amount you donate above those values is what’s eligible to be tax-deductible. So, if you donate $275 for the “ALOHA JACKET,” $125 is eligible to be tax-deductible. You will receive an end-of-year donation receipt at the close of 2020 with your total donations to Aloha Harvest, and the above information will be noted for this specific donation.
While supplies last, make a $100+ donation (using portal above) and write “ALOHA TABLE RUNNER” in the comment to receive a table runner made out of repurposed vintage fabric. Color choice requests are not available for table runners.
Finally, WHILE SUPPLIES LAST, make one of three donation levels to receive a hand-sewn mask:
$25 for 1 mask
$40 for 2 masks
$50 for 3 masks
Be sure to write “ALOHA FACE MASKS – #” in the comment to receive your masks. The limit of masks you can receive is 3. If your donation exceeds $50, we will send 3.
Unlike the jackets and table runners, these masks count as token items. Their fair-market value does NOT need to be deducted out of the tax-deductible portion of your donation.
Mahalo to local business owner Elizabeth Kent of Vested Interest Hawaii for donating her beautiful handiwork for this fundraiser, and for continuously supporting the work of nonprofits across the state.
